Blues Women sign Lucy Whipp

The 23-year-old joins from St John’s University, to bolster manager Marta Tejedor’s forward options.

Birmingham City Women are delighted to announce the signing of playmaker Lucy Whipp.

The 23-year-old joins from St John’s University, to bolster manager Marta Tejedor’s forward options.

Whipp becomes the fifth new signing of the summer and can play in any position across the front three or as an attacking midfielder.

During her four year spell in America, she notched nine goals and recorded 12 assists, and has played with England international Rachel Daly.

Last season, Whipp scored a career best four goals from 15 shots, playing in all 19 games.

She previously played for fellow FA Women’s Super League side Everton Lades, where she made 20 appearances.

A technical and athletic forward, she made her first team debut in 2013 having progressed through the Toffee’s Centre of Excellence.

Whipp has also represented England from Under-15s level through to the Under-23s.

Her arrival sees her reunited with her former Everton team mate Claudia Walker.
