Bri Visalli - Excited to be a part of the process

I obviously have a lot of energy, that’s the first thing that comes to mind,” she said. “I’m like a spark plug so whenever I get out onto the field I bring a lot of energy and life to the play, and hopefully I can positively impact the game and my teammates around me.

Birmingham City Women summer signing Brianna Visalli is “excited to be part of the process” at the Club after joining in July.

The midfielder, who arrived from West Ham Women, was described by new boss Marta Tejedor as “a very clever midfielder who makes football seem easy.”

And Visalli was quick to add that she is also a ball of energy, who can’t wait to get out on the pitch.

“I obviously have a lot of energy, that’s the first thing that comes to mind,” she said. “I’m like a spark plug so whenever I get out onto the field I bring a lot of energy and life to the play, and hopefully I can positively impact the game and my teammates around me.”

With pre-season underway, Visalli has slotted right in. Vocal, hard working and passionate, the 24-year-old will prove a vital part of Birmingham City’s side next season.

She expressed her delight in the process that the Club is currently undergoing and believes that this season could be one to remember.

She said: “I think we have collectively a lot to work on and gel and trust each other, and trust the process that we’re going through.

“There is a lot of potential in this squad and it feels like such an exciting process to be a part of.

“I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the staff, the girls and even the area. I have loved the training that we’ve been doing so far and just the day in, day out grind has been fun.

“I think the staff are excellent in the details that they have and they are trying to go after in terms of technical and tactical.

“It excites me to be a part of the journey that we are going on and I’m excited for what’s to come. It’s a very promising time and I feel it’s the right time to be part of this group.”

Looking ahead to the new season, which starts with a home fixture against Everton, Visalli is thriving under the challenge of bettering the top four finish in the last campaign.

She said: “I think a top four finish is a big deal and that’s one of the reasons why I wanted to come to Birmingham. I want to be successful, which this club has been and it has a reputation of developing players and I find that extremely attractive in a club.

“The least I can say is that we want to better that position this year, and hopefully we can build on that. I personally want to build on that because I have goals and that’s why I’m here.

“Also I think the way we’re going about it, this season will be really special and something that I haven’t seen before.

“I hope we can make the fans proud. I know there’s a lot of new faces, and everyone’s talking about that, but a lot of quality has come through the door too.”
