We can confirm that Cristina Torkildsen is leaving Blues.

Torkildsen is to depart her role as Youth Technical Director.

Subsequently, Blues are inviting applicants for the position of Head of Youth Development, a dual role which combines RTC Technical Director and WSL Academy Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to continue the excellent work Torkildsen has done in developing the Club's young talent.

Torkildsen joined Blues in 2007 as a player and after three years, following a short spell at Coventry, she returned to play in the WSL between 2011 - 2015. She was part of the squad that won the FA Cup in 2012 and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2014.

She began her coaching career at Blues in 2008, combining playing and a full-time job as Football Development Officer at Birmingham County FA. She worked predominately within the Youth Development Phase (16s and 17s) and coached a number of players who are currently playing in the WSL.

In January 2017 she became Blues Youth Technical Director and went full-time with Club seven months later, overseeing the Academy.

We would like to wish Cristina all the best in her future ventures and we thank her for everything she has done for Club during her time here.
