Ivan celebrates play in hospital week

Ivan Sunjic helped celebrate Heartlands Hospital’s play in hospital week.

The Blues midfielder visited the children’s ward to meet poorly youngsters at the Bordesley Green hospital.

Ivan spent time playing games with the children in ward 16’s playroom, before presenting them with a number of gifts to make their stays in hospital a little brighter.

Heartlands Hospital, who are members of Blues’ Ticket Incentive Scheme, are showcasing the importance of play for children who are receiving treatment in hospital.

“Ivan was a star. It was lovely to see him taking time to talk to the children and their parents,” said Christine Morrell, play specialist at Heartlands.

“The children receive such a boost when a player from their local club visits the hospital.”

Heartlands Hospital Charity earns money through the Club’s Ticket Incentive Scheme. The Ticket Incentive Scheme allows local schools, charities, youth groups and sports teams to earn commission by selling special rate tickets for Blues matches at St. Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium. For every ticket sold, each group receives 50% commission to spend on whatever resources they need.
