Young Blues full-back Remeao Hutton has joined League Two side Northampton Town on a season long loan.

The 20-year-old links up with the Cobblers, having played a trial game for Keith Curle's side on Saturday against Premier League outfit Sheffield United.

Northampton lost that match at the Sixfields Stadium 2-0 after Ollie Norwood bagged two first-half penalties for The Blades.

Hutton, who can also play in a more advanced midfield position, made 13 appearances for Blues Under-23s last season, scoring one goal.

He joined Blues two years ago after attracting the attention of the Club with his appearances in non-league football.

Earlier this summer he was rewarded with a new two-year deal.

Former Manchester City and England defender Curle took over as Northampton boss in October 2018 and led them to 15th spot at the end of their 2018/19 League Two campaign.
