Gemma Lawley receives England call-up

Good luck with the Young Lionesses, Gemma.

Blues defender Gemma Lawley has been called up to the England Under-19s squad for their camp in the upcoming international break.

Lawley has found herself involved within the First Team set-up this season, with Carla Ward giving Gemma her debut in the FA Cup semi-final against Everton.

She has since gone on to make appearances against Blackburn in the Conti Cup and made her Women’s Super League debut against West Ham at the beginning of November.

The defender has gained high praise from Ward for her performances since being with the squad.

The Head Coach said: “Gemma has stepped up brilliantly and is maturing every day, she’s been with the first team squad since the start of the season and now looks part of the furniture.

Gemma will now join up with the Young Lionesses - who have two fixtures during the camp - an in-house training match and another game that is still to be confirmed.

Good luck, Gemma!
