Reaction: Blues 0 Sheffield Wednesday 1

When we showed that intensity we created more chances than we had in the last three or four games in a row.

Aitor Karanka's comments following Blues' first league defeat of the season after losing against the Owls...

On his side taking a long time to get going, but then creating several chances towards the end of the game...
“We have chosen today different players to try to be more offensive. But the lack of intensity, especially in the first-half was disappointing. It was difficult to attack and it was difficult to defend when you don't have the intensity you need it's difficult to do everything. When we showed that intensity we created more chances than we had in the last three or four games in a row."

Asked his view on the penalty decision that went against his side...
"I don't know, but I really don't want to complain. But what I want to know is why we are making those mistakes and sort it out as soon as possible."

On Blues making disappointing starts in their last two fixtures...
“It is something that I have to check. I don’t know if it will be about the players, about the warm-up, about the meetings but I need to check it because it is true in the last two games we didn’t approach the games in the way we have to approach it."

On Lukas Jutkiewicz's absence...
“Jukey felt unwell. We missed him a lot. Lukas and Jon Toral (groin) because he got injured on Thursday or Friday. That can be another explanation when the players who are playing look at the bench and they don’t see anybody who can make an impact on the game and maybe they are a little bit more relaxed. But it is true we have to take good things from the game today and the best two things are Jonathan Leko and Riley McGree.”

On Jonathan Leko's cameo performance as a sub after being out for so long with an ACL injury...
“He's now played 15 or 20 minutes and done really well, but nine or 10 months out is a long time so we have to be careful with him.”
