Blues Women Sign Sarah Ewens

Blues Women are thrilled to reveal the signing of Sarah Ewens.

The Scottish forward joins for an undisclosed fee from Celtic and has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Club (subject to international clearance).

A direct and purposeful attacker, Ewens, 29, can occupy various forward positions and is Blues’ third summer signing after the arrivals of Jade Pennock and Louise Quinn.

In nearly a century of appearances for the Hoops across four years, Ewens found the net on an amazing 64 occasions as she averaged a goal every 1.53 matches.

During the 2019 season, she was not only Celtic’s leading scorer but managed to find the net against every side in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.

Last term, Ewens helped fire Celtic to qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League, as in the league they finished second only to a Glasgow City side managed by her new Head Coach at Blues, Scott Booth.

Having made the move to England, Ewens cannot wait to get started and told

"I'm absolutely delighted. It's really good to be here and I can't wait to get started. It is massive for me, coming down, and playing in the top league.

"I love scoring goals and, hopefully, I can bring that to my game down here and also some assists as well. I am a very attacking player and I hope to bring those abilities to Birmingham."

Prior to playing in Glasgow, Ewens was a standout performer for both Hibernian and Spartans, winning the Women’s Scottish Cup and Scottish Women’s Premier League Cup with the Hibees in 2016.

She has also represented Scotland at both the Under-17s and Under-19s age groups, making a total of 16 appearances.

Welcome to Blues, Sarah!
