The 17-year-old forward joins Blues from fellow Barclays FA Women’s Super League side Chelsea.
Murphy already boasts the record of scoring in all three domestic women’s competitions, with her maiden first team goal coming against Aston Villa in last year’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup quarter-final.
Arriving from Emma Hayes’ league champions, the versatile attacker has also been recognised at international level. In 2019, she wore the armband for England’s Under-17s as they played Euro qualification matches against Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Belgium, scoring her first goal for the young Lionesses against the Belgian Red Flames.
Murphy is the second signing of 2021 for Carla Ward’s side, after Veatriki Sarri moved from Sheffield United earlier this month, and she may be a familiar face to Blues fans having made her Chelsea debut against the Club in November 2019.
Assigned the number 35 shirt, Murphy is available for selection against Brighton & Hove Albion in the WSL on Sunday.
Welcome to Blues, Emily.
