Steve Seddon Departs Blues

Best of luck, Steve!

Blues can confirm that Steve Seddon has signed for Oxford United.

The 23-year-old defender joins the U’s for an undisclosed fee after being in the West Midlands since 2014.

Having arrived from Reading’s Academy, Seddon climbed the Blues ladder, earned a scholarship and made more than half a century of appearances for the Club’s Under-23s side before making his First Team debut during an opening day win over Brentford in August 2019.

Seddon was on loan at Stevenage in the 2018-19 season and with Portsmouth in 2020, also enjoying two spells at AFC Wimbledon either side of his time at Fratton Park.

He was recalled by Blues midway through his second stint with the Dons and utilised by Lee Bowyer as he helped the team secure their Sky Bet Championship status in April of this year.

The Englishman leaves St. Andrew’s with 12 appearances to his name and links up with an Oxford side that under the management of Karl Robinson finished sixth in League One last term.

Best of luck, Steve!
